Date: 13 November 2018

Time: 17:00-19:00 (refreshments from 16:30)

Venue: Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University, City Campus East 1, Room 403

Corporate Philanthropy is often seen as strategic and reputation building. This workshop will explore the less often noted impact of employee involvement in philanthropic work. It will introduce a variety of projects undertaken by employees in John Lewis branches in Newcastle and Edinburgh, discuss their involvement in the nomination and selection of philanthropic projects and use with partner focus groups to demonstrate the benefits of this work for the community, the business and employees themselves. Following this introduction, participants will be encouraged to share their own experiences of employee engagement in philanthropy and to consider the barriers and opportunities available to employers by involving employees at all stages of corporate philanthropy.

The two key speakers are Dr Helen Nicholson, Northumbria University and Nicki Clark, BE Group
